Kingdom Kidz is making a real difference in Lowedges, but to keep this space open and thriving for local children, we need people like you to help make it possible. Apply now.

Why It Matters

By volunteering, you help make Kingdom Kidz possible in one of the more deprived areas of Sheffield. You are helping provide one of the few faith-centred spaces where local children can explore truth and experience genuine care. Your time helps children feel safe, seen and encouraged, and gives them a positive role model at a stage of life when it matters most. You are helping create opportunities that can shape their lives for years to come.

About Kingdom Kidz

Kingdom Kidz is a vibrant after school club for children aged 5 to 11. It is so valued in the community that Lowedges Junior Academy runs a walking bus straight to the session each week. Children enjoy learning about Jesus through play, stories, games, crafts, drama, singing and plenty of creativity. Each session explores values such as friendship, kindness, respect, sharing and love.

The club takes place on Tuesdays during term time from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. We welcome children of all faiths and none.

Kingdom Kidz is held in the Eden Hub, a newly refurbished Christian-run community space supported by churches across the area. In Lowedges, opportunities for children to explore faith in a safe and positive environment are limited, and Kingdom Kidz is one of the few local places offering this kind of consistent, encouraging input.

Your Role

As a volunteer, you will help create a warm, safe and joyful environment where children feel valued and excited to be there. You will be part of a team that helps children explore faith and grow in confidence through story, play and creativity.

You will help with:

  • Setting up the room and packing away afterwards

  • Supporting Bible stories, crafts, games and creative activities

  • Welcoming children and helping them feel included

  • Following the guidance of the session leader

  • Being a calm and positive role model

Each session usually lasts around three hours including preparation and tidying up.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone with a heart for sharing God’s love with children

  • Friendly, reliable and happy to work as part of a team

  • Experience with children or church groups is helpful but not essential

  • A DBS check is required and can be arranged

  • Minimum commitment: one session per month

  • Preferred commitment: fortnightly or weekly involvement
