Off Script is growing and making a difference for local young people, but to keep it going well, we need people like you to help make it possible.

Why It Matters

Off Script provides one of the few safe, positive and values-led spaces for young people in Lowedges. By volunteering, you will be offering consistency and kindness to young people who may not find it elsewhere. Your presence can help them feel seen, valued and supported at a crucial stage of life.

About Off Script

Off Script is a youth group programme run by the Terminus Initiative, offering a fun, engaging and safe environment for young people aged 11 to 16. Sessions include activities such as karaoke, team games and creative challenges that help young people unwind, have fun and build confidence.

Held in the newly refurbished Eden Hub, Off Script is one of the few positive after school spaces available to young people in Lowedges. Many of the teenagers who come are navigating big questions about life, identity and belonging, and Off Script gives them a place where they can feel welcomed and supported.

Although the club is not overtly Christian in how it runs, it is shaped by Christian values. Volunteering here gives you the opportunity to live out and communicate your faith in a natural and relational way, coming alongside young people who are genuinely searching for truth, stability and connection.

Your Role

As a volunteer, you will help create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where young people feel safe to be themselves. You will join in activities, chat with the young people and help them feel included. The aim is not to preach at them, but to show genuine care, consistency and kindness.

You will help with:

  • Setting up the space and tidying up afterwards

  • Supporting activities such as, team games and creative sessions

  • Building positive, relationships with young people

  • Helping maintain a safe and respectful environment

  • Working with the team to support any young person who needs encouragement or a listening ear

Each session is around two hours, plus a little time for preparing and packing away.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone who cares about young people and wants to support them

  • Friendly, patient and able to listen well

  • Comfortable engaging with teenagers from a variety of backgrounds

  • A DBS check is required and can be arranged

  • Minimum commitment: two sessions per month

  • Preferred commitment: fortnightly or weekly involvement
