The Youth Worker will play a key role in creating engaging opportunities that support young people's wellbeing, personal development and sense of belonging. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape youth provision within the community, building meaningful relationships with young people and creating programmes that make a lasting difference.

 

The role is varied and hands-on, combining youth work, programme development and community engagement. You will work closely with young people, families, schools, community partners and volunteers to ensure young people have access to safe, positive spaces where they can thrive.

Your Role

 

You will lead and develop youth activities that provide young people with opportunities to socialise, learn new skills and grow in confidence. You will help create welcoming environments where young people feel valued, supported and encouraged to reach their potential.

 

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering youth sessions, activities and events

• Building positive and trusted relationships with young people

• Supporting young people's personal, social and emotional development

• Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment

• Recruiting, supporting and working alongside volunteers

• Developing partnerships with schools, community groups and local organisations

• Encouraging young people to shape and influence activities and programmes

• Helping monitor and evaluate the impact of youth provision

 

This is a full-time role involving a mixture of daytime, evening and occasional weekend work to meet the needs of young people and the wider community.

Who We Are Looking For

 

• Someone who is passionate about supporting and empowering young people

• Friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships

• Experienced in working with young people in youth, education or community settings

• Organised and confident in planning activities and managing projects

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Committed to creating safe, welcoming and inclusive environments

• A DBS check is required and can be arranged

• Willing to work flexibly, including some evenings and occasional weekends
